À propos de Leon
I teach acoustic and eletric guitar since 2013, when I was a student at Music Degree from UFRJ. I started teaching ukulele around 2017.
In 2005 I took my first lessons in the city of Niterói with Fred Martins and since then I studied with Queque Medeiros, Márcio Cebola and Valéria Gomes.
In addition to the instrument lessons with the teachers mentioned, I studied at the following institutions: Escola de Música Villa-Lobos, the already mentioned Escola de Música da UFRJ, Maracatu Brasil, where I was part of the Tambores de Olokun and Escola Portátil de Choro.
In 2020 I started a channel aimed at teaching songs from the Brazilian independent universe, contemplating groups such as Metá Metá, Baiana System, Céu, Posada and Tuyo.
I worked at the Agnes Moço Musicalization School, where I had contact with children’s musicalization, and at the Polimusic store, where I taught instruments.
I have also contributed with academic researches on Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) on artists such as Baden Powell, in seminars and papers.

- Tout d'abord, je m'excuse de ne pas avoir rédigé l'annonce en français. Je ne parle que portugais et anglais, qui sont les langues dans lesquelles je peux donner des cours. L'annonce, à partir de maintenant, sera en anglais.
- My classes are designed to meet student goals. Therefore, it is from their musical tastes and interests that the contents will be taugh.
- I have extensive experience in teaching songs by the great names of Brazilian music such as Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso, João Gilberto, Gilberto Gil and Milton Nascimento as well as many musical genres Bossa Nova, Samba, Baião, Sertanejo, Xote, Rock, Indie, Pop, Blues, Funk, R&B, Reggae among others.
- Students of various levels and age groups are welcome
- Theoretical subjects such as harmony, theory, rhythmic division, scales, cipher reading and scores are taught if this is the student’s will
- To give more support to the lessons, I suggest a constant exchange of videos with students during the period between each class. In this way, the accompaniment to the development of each student becomes more meticulous.
-- I suggest that students create playlists with the songs learned in class and listen to them routinely, because the incorporation of the repertoire in our daily life is fundamental to learning.
- An important process within the methodology I develop is writing down each class given. In this way, It becomes easier to know how much each student is developing.
- I send support materials such as Pdfs, chord diagrams and scales, videos, sound recordings to assist the student in apprehending the content covered.
