À propos d'Elmir
I’m Elmir Girkhiyev, a multilingual Business-Engineering student at KU Leuven and the founder of the KU Leuven Brussels Chess Club. Beyond regular play, I’ve served as a certified referee at youth and adult tournaments and have organised several open events myself, so I know the game from every angle—player, arbiter and director. My lessons draw on that all-round experience: you’ll learn the practical skills that win games, the etiquette and rules that keep tournaments running smoothly, and the strategic thinking that makes chess such a powerful tool for confidence and problem-solving. I teach in English, Azerbaijani, Russian, Turkish or Lithuanian, adapting the pace and depth to each learner’s age and ambition.

FIDE-rated chess coach based in Brussels offers personalised, age-appropriate tuition that turns curiosity into confident, strategic play. Lessons are carefully structured so that children discover each piece through stories and mini-games while older students dive into openings, tactical motifs, end-game technique and deeper positional thinking. Every session blends concise explanations with live board exercises, interactive puzzles and mini-matches, then finishes with clear homework and a brief progress note so you always know the next milestone. You may learn in English, French or basic Dutch, either face-to-face at home, in a quiet café or club, or online with an interactive board—whichever suits your schedule. All study sheets, weekly tactic packs and a shared cloud notebook are included. No previous experience is required: by the end of the first block you will recognise patterns faster, calculate with greater accuracy and feel at ease sitting across any opponent.
