Mastery and nothing else

“I had violin lessons with Raphael for 12 years, from absolute beginner all the way through to grade 8. I loved learning to play because he was great at balancing laughing and having fun in lessons with knowing when to challenge me. I always came away feeling that I could play a little bit better. Raphael taught technical skills thoroughly, but I also learnt how to play musically, by considering how to shape each piece to make it my own. If you're looking for a violin teacher, I really couldn't recommend him more highly!” Helena

My son has taken lessons with Raphael for 6 years and he has been an excellent teacher. I am so glad that we decided to have private classes because we really valued having a consistent teacher that was adaptable according to different moods and interests. He adapted his teaching style seamlessly from a young beginner to a more accomplished player and styles from Celtic to Classical.

Raphael gets to know his students well and encourages their development through a playful environment. Learning the violin is a challenge, but I always saw my son come out of his classes with a smile on his face. He has a lovely ability to get the best out of his students and make it fun. I can wholeheartedly recommend him as a teacher. Christina

I studied the violin for 10 years with Raphael and with him I achieved every grade up to and including grade 7. Raphael managed to make the lessons fun and enjoyable through being patient and supportive while having a passion for the violin that is extremely infectious- I would recommend Raphael to anyone at all looking to the violin while not wanting the process to being tedious!
