My teaching is rooted in a communicative and inquiry-based approach. I don't just teach grammar rules; I teach students how to use English effectively in real-world contexts. Task-Based Learning (TBL): Students engage in meaningful tasks (like planning a presentation, writing a proposal, or debating a topic) that require them to utilize various language skills. The language learning happens through the task. Differentiated Instruction: I constantly assess student needs and adapt materials (texts, tasks, complexity) so every student is appropriately challenged and supported, whether they are striving or accelerating. Focus on the Four Strands: Lessons seamlessly integrate Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and media literacy. For example, analyzing a news article involves reading comprehension, discussing its bias (speaking/listening), and writing a response. Growth Mindset: I encourage students to see mistakes as learning opportunities. Feedback is specific, actionable, and focuses on progress rather than just grades.
