Conducting an orchestra can seem intimidating.
It is one of the most visible jobs in classical music, yet surprisingly little is known about how to actually become a conductor. Where do you start? What should you study? How do you get your first opportunities? And, perhaps most importantly, how do you know if conducting is really for you?
I know this feeling because I went through it myself.
I discovered conducting relatively late and spent years trying to understand how to enter this world, find the right opportunities and make the right choices along the way. Today, after completing a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Conservatoire of Liège, I have been selected to continue my studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, one of the world's leading conservatoires.
Now, I want to make that journey easier for the next generation of young conductors.
# What can we work on?
My lessons are designed both for musicians who are completely new to conducting and for those who already have some experience.
Depending on your goals, we can work on:
* The fundamentals of orchestral conducting
* 🪄 Baton technique, gesture and clarity
* Score reading and score preparation
* Listening and developing your musical ear
* Musical interpretation and communication
* Understanding how to work with an orchestra
* Choosing repertoire and building your musical identity
* Preparing for auditions, entrance exams and conducting studies
* Understanding the different paths into the profession
But my goal is not simply to teach you how to move your arms.
I want to help you understand the world of conducting, discover what kind of conductor you want to become, and make informed choices about your musical education and future.
Whether you are a pianist, instrumentalist, music student, or simply someone who has always wondered what it would be like to stand in front of an orchestra, you are welcome.
You don't need to have everything figured out before starting.
That's exactly what I'm here to help you with.

# About the Lesson
You can book individual lessons whenever you need them, or choose to work with me over a longer period through a regular lesson plan.
While one-off lessons can be useful, my main goal is to build something consistent and progressive with each student.
I don't believe in simply meeting once a week and deciding what to do on the spot. Instead, I get to know your level, your musical background, your strengths and the areas you need to develop, and we build a programme around you.
# A personalised journey
Together, we can establish a regular routine and a clear progression — whether your goal is simply to discover conducting, develop your musicianship, prepare for an audition, or seriously consider conducting as a future career.
Lessons can include conducting technique, score study, musical interpretation, rehearsal technique, repertoire, listening and musicianship, as well as guidance on conservatoire applications, auditions and the professional world.
Between lessons, I am also available to answer questions, discuss scores or help you work through something you are preparing. The learning doesn't have to stop when the lesson ends.
# More than just a lesson
I want to treat you as a musician, not simply as a hobbyist taking an occasional class.
That means taking your goals seriously, challenging you when necessary, giving you things to work on between lessons, and helping you gradually develop your own musical voice.
My aim is that, over time, you don't just learn how to conduct: you become more independent, more confident, and more aware of the kind of musician and conductor you want to be.
Whether we work together for one lesson or for several months, every session should have a purpose and contribute to your development.
