My name is Bruna, I’m from Brazil and my academic background is Architecture but actually learning new languages is my biggest passion. Portuguese is my mother tongue and I also speak Dutch, English, Spanish and French - which I can use to help with beginners (or not, for a more immersive experience). I have lived abroad (in France, Spain and Belgium) through most of my adult life and have helped many friends who wanted to improve their Portuguese skills along the way.
Besides, I am also a multi-skilled, reliable & punctual TRANSLATOR. A quick learner who can absorb new ideas and communicate clearly with people from all social & professional background. I have experience in translating documents like Articles of incorporation, Abstracts, Manuals, Papers, Pharmaceutical reports, User Guides, Advertising, Human Resources, etc; between the Language Pairs: English to Portuguese; Dutch to Portuguese and Spanish to Portuguese.

I believe the best way to learn a language is to experience the culture. So along side vocabulary and grammar, I like to bring in curiosities, facts and expressions that are typically Brazilian. I think learning languages is more fun when it feels like you are talking to a friend instead of a strict professor. Moreover, I like to mold the methodology to the student's objectives and preferences.
I will make sure to adapt to your level and to your needs by talking to you before each exchange. If you’re comfortable with, I’m going to use media and cultural support such as songs, books, movies, etc to help you practising and discovering aspects of Portuguese. Speaking is a fundamental key so that’s what we’re going to focus on, always keeping in mind your level, needs and your way of learning.

Précisions
As time is valuable to both me and my students, I have a 12 hours cancellation policy. Cancellations made less than 12 hours in advance will be charged 50% of the amount of the lesson. For no-shows, a cancellation fee equal to the total amount of the lesson is assessed. A student will be considered a no-show if he is 15 minutes late.
* exceptions will be made in extraordinary circumstances.
