Parfait ! Over several months Charlotte helped my son prepare for the AP French exam. She conversed with him in French and prepared him well. Importantly, she gave him a lot of confidence and support. She is a native French speaker, very professional and a serious person in general. I recommend her strongly - I wish everyone was as effective as Charlotte.

Grant is back into the study of French after living in France as a teenager. Grant is great and likes to be challenged. We focus a lot of conversation and the verbs...! Knowing the conjugation is key and really indicates your mastering of the language! I really have been enjoying our weekly sessions for the last few years!

Lili contacted me last June to help her daughter work on her French during the summer, even from her foreign vacation location, in order to prepare for an entrance exam IN French. She not only succeeded in passing it, but is clearly ahead of her classes. Her two daughters are still actively learning French and making amazing progress.

My 11 year old has been in a French Immersion program since kindergarten and he very rarely spoke French (even during travels to French speaking locations) until Charlotte started working him. She has helped to build his confidence and increased his knowledge of the language. My son has stated that the sessions have really helped him with French at school, as well. Charlotte is very courteous and gives great feedback following the sessions. I highly recommend her as a tutor.

I strongly recommend Ms. Charlotte. When I first started French, I had a very tough time understanding basic topics and establishing a good foundation. Once I started receiving tutoring from Ms. Charlotte, I was able to understand the basics of French and went on to truly enjoy french. Ever since then, I found a passion for French and took the class throughout all of high school. I don’t think I would’ve ever enjoyed French as much as I do now if I didn’t receive tutoring from Ms.Charlotte.

Charlotte is an excellent French teacher. She taught our son French through high school and he went from not knowing the language at all to learning to read, write and speak the language while getting A’s in high school. He not only learnt French but that became one of his favorite subject in high school. He was also awarded by the French National Honors Society. I can assure you that all this was due to the tutoring by Charlotte. If you need to learn French, I totally recommend Charlotte.

En savoir plus sur Charlotte

Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
I was born and raised in the city of Rouen, which is the capital of Normandy in France.
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
As a native of Rouen, I would certainly mention Joan of Arc, which was sadly burnt at stake on May 30th, 1431. Her story is phenomenal and so inspiring
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
I really enjoy when French people debate and talk about any subjects, without being too political correct. Voices might be raised at times, but everyone is heard and leaves the table without any hurt feelings.
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
As a native speaker and having lived abroad most of my professional career, I feel that French is such rich language and deserves to be nurtured.
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
The difficulty of French is the written grammar and the fact that they are so many exceptions to the rules.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
I have lived and worked in 5 countries and I have been impressed in some cases by the high fluency of some of my business partners: extremely impressive, especially in Central and Eastern Europe.
What makes you a Super Prof in language?
I have been helping students of all ages for the last 10 years and I have learnt along the way various tricks to help understand some of the most difficult points of grammar. I have met so many terrific students, and can proudly say that I help them to improve their scores. In one specific case, I help a student prepare for an entrance placement tests at a highly competitive high school, and after a whole summer of bi-weekly meetings, she exceeded her initial goal.
