À propos d'Álvaro
I graduated in English Studies in 2016 and have lived abroad ever since. Altogether I have spent five years teaching languages, mainly English and Spanish. I offer English lessons (A1-C1) as well as Spanish (all levels), Basque (all levels), and German language lessons (A1-B1) for children of all ages and adults.
During my studies, I specialised on second language acquisition. I am additionally fluent in five languages (English, Spanish, Basque, German and Italian), and speak French at an intermediate level.
I have also worked as a non-formal educator and trainer for three years now, which has granted me with an objective-oriented and organised mindset at the time of structuring my lessons, as well as regard to their pragmatics and emotional intelligence aspects.
All this elements allow me to turn my pedagogical approach in a particularly student-centred one.

I have two general focuses:
(1) Conversational classes: these are lessons in which 50% of the time the student(s) discuss a specific topic to be decided upon beforehand. The following 25% is specific doubts students may have, such as semantic fields, specific grammar rules, etc. The last 25% I give feedback on what was discussed during the first half, by for instance explaining specific grammar rules or vocabulary that was wrongly used. I recommend this type of class for students from B1 level onwards, as a certain level of fluency allows (self-explanatorily) for a greater benefit from conversational classes.
(2) Exam preparation classes: in these classes, the methodology is quite methodical and straightforward, as it is essentially focused on preparing specific exams. I prefer to discuss it with my students and to decide the exact method after the first lesson, as it is easier to realise then whether grammar, speaking, writing or some other specific field needs further or lesser reinforcement.

Álvaro was a superb Spanish teacher. He taught me Spanish for 1 year. He explained what he is teaching very clearly, and as a native English speaker I also thought he was very good at English.
I strongly recommend Alvaro as an English teacher for his complete mastery of the language. Whether it is grammar, pronunciation, teaching methodology or the dynamism of his classes. His quality of teaching clearly reflects the years of experience behind him.
Je connais Álvaro depuis plusieurs années et j'ai eu l'occasion de partager avec lui diverses expériences liées à l'apprentissage et à l'enseignement des langues. Au-delà de ses compétences et de son excellent niveau d'anglais, Álvaro se démarque par sa spontanéité et sa capacité à transmettre sans effort sa passion pour les langues tant aux enfants qu'aux adultes, grâce à son approche versatile.
J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer Álvaro il y a 3 ans et grâce à lui, mon espagnol s'est beaucoup amélioré!
C'est rare de rencontrer quelqu'un qui non seulement est doué pour les langues, mais qui sait aussi les enseigner.
Ce que j'ai aimé le plus est qu'Álvaro est sérieux, mais aussi très rigolo, donc on apprend en s'amusant :)
