À propos d'Allie
Hey there, I'm Allie! I'm a passionate teacher with more than 15 years of experience working with teenagers and adults in the United States and internationally.
I hold a Massachusetts teaching license in History for grades 5–12, an endorsement in Sheltered English Immersion, a TEFL certification, and a degree in History and International Relations. Over the years, I have taught History, Geography, Political Science, English Literature, Writing, ESL/ESOL, and more.
I believe learning should be interesting, practical, and something students can feel proud of. Whether you're preparing for an exam, struggling with an assignment, improving your English, or simply curious about a subject, I'll meet you where you are and help you build your knowledge and confidence.

My approach is student-centered, engaging, and adapted to each student's goals and learning style. With 15+ years of teaching experience, I focus on helping students understand the stories, connections, and ideas behind a subject rather than simply memorizing facts.
I use storytelling, discussion, visual materials, timelines, maps, primary sources, guided analysis, practice questions, and writing activities depending on the subject and student. Lessons usually begin with a quick review, move into new material and guided practice, and finish with a recap and opportunities to apply what we've learned.
My strengths are making complicated subjects understandable and interesting, building students' confidence, and adapting my teaching when a particular approach isn't working. I have taught teenagers and adults, English-language learners, and students with different learning needs, including in special education settings.
I offer tutoring in History, World and U.S. History, Ancient Civilizations, Geography, Political Science, Social Sciences, Mythology, English Literature, and Writing. Lessons are suitable for students from middle school through university, as well as adults who simply want to learn something new.
